Glenn Miller was an American jazz trombonist, composer, and big band leader, one of the defining figures of the swing era in the 1930s and 1940s. He was known for his distinctive orchestral sound and hits such as "In the Mood" and "Moonlight Serenade". He disappeared in 1944 under mysterious circumstances during a flight over the English Channel.
