Hans Christian Andersen (1805–1875) was a Danish author, world-famous for his fairy tales. His best-known works include "The Ugly Duckling", "The Little Mermaid", and "The Snow Queen". His stories have been translated into hundreds of languages and continue to inspire theatrical, film, and puppet adaptations to this day.
