Tubular Bells is the debut album by British musician Mike Oldfield, released in 1973 as the first record on Virgin Records. The album is best known for its hypnotic opening theme, which gained worldwide recognition as the soundtrack to the horror film The Exorcist. Oldfield played dozens of instruments on the recording himself.
