Astor Piazzolla (1921–1992) was an Argentine composer and bandoneon player who transformed the tango genre. He developed a style known as nuevo tango, blending traditional Argentine tango with elements of classical music and jazz. His best-known work is the cycle Las Cuatro Estaciones Porteñas (The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires).
