Pixies are an American rock band from Boston, formed in 1986. Their albums Surfer Rosa (1988) and Doolittle (1989) were hugely influential on alternative rock and the indie scene of the 1990s. The band is known for their quiet-loud song dynamics, which inspired artists including Kurt Cobain. After disbanding in 1993, Pixies reunited in 2004.
