St. Pauli Beer Tour - Beer and the Neighbourhood
St. Pauli Office, Hamburg, Germany
Plenty of great beers and a wealth of stories about St. Pauli.
Hamburg was once famous as a beer capital with over 750 varieties. The entertainment district of St. Pauli was naturally one of the thirstiest spots in town. For a while, the scene shrank to a handful of the same mass-produced brands - but today the local beer landscape is thriving again.
This tour covers everything about beer and St. Pauli: historical curiosities (like why children used to drink beer here) alongside the latest craft scene. You start in the cosy salon at St. Pauli Office, then move on to the neighbourhood's hottest new craft beer spots and its most characterful old pubs. Along the way, six tasting beers are included.
A word of warning: this is not a drinking binge. It's a knowledgeable, good-humoured walk through St. Pauli with beer as the thread. Anyone who arrives drunk or behaves badly won't be able to join.
All guides are local residents with a genuine passion for the neighbourhood - and for beer.
