Who hasn't heard of the Ländle? Better known as BaWü - Baden-Württemberg. Home of the Kehrwoche, Spätzle, Trollinger-Lemberger wine, and World Savings Day. And now it's not just cars being exported - Swabian hospitality is heading out into the world too. The franchise chain "Pension zur schwäbischen Jungfrau" sets off from this well-worn federal state into the fringes of East German industrial estates, from Ottendorf-Okrilla to Großengottern.

Meet "Frl. Fischer", the eternally young entrepreneur with heart and a sharp tongue, trying her luck as a first-time restaurateur. Always by her side: loyal pianist Sven, a freelance keyboard player without a steady gig who is finally ready to make his big break. Among the regular guests: Frau Sturm, who found the retirement home too exciting and prefers to stir things up in the quiet guesthouse. And the modern woman of today - naturally with a son who would rather not be named... All these characters are played and brought to life by Carolin Fischer, long known as a longtime member of the academixer ensemble and now striking out on her own.
