SHREK - THE MUSICAL - Premiere — Burg Seevetal Veranstaltungszentrum, Seevetal-Hittfeld

Based on the DreamWorks animated film and the book by William Steig

Book and lyrics: David Lindsay-Abaire | Music: Jeanine Tesori
German version by Kevin Schroeder and Heiko Wohlgemuth

Forget princes on white horses: October 2026 is going to be green, loud, and thoroughly heroic! The TMC company transforms Burg Seevetal into a fairy-tale swamp and brings SHREK - a cheeky, high-energy Broadway hit - to Hittfeld, a show that speaks to every generation.

The story:
Shrek is perfectly happy in his cosy swamp - until a crowd of banished fairy-tale characters moves in. From Pinocchio to the Big Bad Wolf, they've all been expelled from the kingdom of Duloc by the power-hungry Lord Farquaad.
To win back his land and his beloved solitude, Shrek strikes a deal: he'll take on the dangerous task of rescuing the beautiful Princess Fiona from a fire-breathing dragon and delivering her to Farquaad. In return, the lord promises to clear the fairy-tale creatures out of the swamp.

Shrek doesn't face this reluctant adventure alone, though - a talking donkey crosses his path and, as an irrepressible chatterbox, refuses to leave his side. But as the rescue mission unfolds, Shrek begins to realise that true beauty often lies deep within - and that heroes don't always come in shining armour.

A soundtrack made for celebrating:
The music of SHREK is as extraordinary as its characters. Rousing pop collides with full-throttle rock and big Broadway moments. With hits like "I'm a Believer" and high-octane ensemble numbers, the live band and cast deliver a sound that gets everyone moving.

With plenty of laughs, quirky encounters, and real musical punch, the show celebrates a world where being different is the greatest strength of all. Fun for the whole family - good spirits guaranteed!
