Bach - St. Matthew Passion

On 13 March 2027, the Bachchor performs Johann Sebastian Bach's St. Matthew Passion. This work is considered one of the central masterpieces of European musical history and was first performed in 1727. Three centuries later, it remains a prime example of the extraordinary synthesis of theological depth and musical craftsmanship that characterizes Bach's passions.

The Bachchor interprets this large-scale passion together with a Baroque orchestra and internationally acclaimed soloists. Through the interplay of chorales, arias, and dramatic narrative, the work unfolds its profound impact, which continues to move audiences and ranks among the most significant compositions of sacred music.
