The German Book Prize is awarded at the opening of the Frankfurt Book Fair. Presented by the Stiftung Buchkultur und Leseförderung des Börsenvereins des Deutschen Buchhandels, it honours the "Novel of the Year". The jury and selection process is among the most rigorous in the German-language literary world - and over more than 20 years has produced novels such as "Die Holländerinnen", "Landgericht", "Kruso", "Herkunft" and "Blutbuch".

Just days after the award ceremony, this year's winner comes to Schauspiel Frankfurt for a reading and conversation, moderated by Sandra Kegel, head of the arts section at the "F.A.Z."
