Dianto Reed Quintet is a wind ensemble of five young Spanish musicians based in Amsterdam. The group's name means 'carnation' in Esperanto - a flower native to the Mediterranean. Esperanto was chosen deliberately: like music, it is considered a universal language. The sound of each of the five woodwind instruments is produced using a reed, which gives the ensemble a distinctive, unified tone.
