HISS - For a Handful of Cents

Since 1995, the band HISS has been on the road. When Mount Etna and Eyjaflallajökull erupted, when floods and hurricanes caused massive damage, they lifted our spirits and comforted us. After Germany's defeat to Croatia in the 1998 World Cup quarter-final and during the financial crisis, after the Fukushima nuclear disaster and throughout numerous epidemics, they helped us maintain perspective, make sense of things, and cope.

Since 1995, HISS has provided lyrical life guidance for every situation, the rhythm for wild dance nights, the soundtrack to our everyday lives.

And they ask for little in return: thunderous applause, some wine, a snack, and a few coins are reward enough. That's why their new album is called "For a Handful of Cents" and arrives in their 30th year of existence, delighting us with more than a handful of new songs.

We hear songs full of power, wit, and life experience about eternal themes-love, addiction, distant travels, and the weather-in a unique worldwide blend of polka and rock'n'roll, tex-mex and Balkan blues, ska and country, grit and sentiment.
