Hagemann Klaviertrio — Neues Schloss, Meersburg

Franz Schubert - Impromptus op. 90/3
Sofia Gubaidulina - from Preludes for cello solo
Pēteris Vasks - Castello Interior for violin and cello
Johann Sebastian Bach - Partita No. 1 in B minor for violin solo, BWV 1002
Dmitri Shostakovich - Piano Trio No. 1 in C major, op. 8
Piano Trio No. 2 in E minor, op. 67

An evening spanning Baroque splendour and the modern era - the Hagemann Klaviertrio draws together sound worlds from across the centuries into a programme of sustained tension and poetic depth. The first half alternates between solo miniatures and duo moments: Schubert's three Impromptus op. 90 in shimmering colours, the searching introspection of Gubaidulina's Preludes for cello solo, Vasks's Castello Interior as a concentrated dialogue for violin and cello, and Bach's Partita No. 1 in B minor as virtuosic, dance-driven architecture.

After the interval, Dmitri Shostakovich takes centre stage - marking his 120th birthday with two landmark works: the early Piano Trio No. 1 in C major, brilliant and headstrong, and the Piano Trio No. 2 in E minor, whose burning expressivity and dark tonal language rank among the most gripping moments in 20th-century chamber music. For over fifteen years the three soloists have come together regularly as the Hagemann Trio, driven by a shared passion for classical chamber music and an openness to the music of our own time.

A trio with a distinct voice: tonally cohesive, interpretively bold, close to the pulse.
