Richard III

After more than a century of struggle for the throne, peace finally reigns in England - but it will not last long. Richard, the power-hungry brother of the new king, harbours dark plans. Mocked and underestimated his entire life, he now wants to prove to everyone: he will be king, whatever the cost. Richard is ruthless and cunning. To achieve his goal, he stops at nothing - no deed too cruel, no murder too brutal. He skilfully wins the people to his side and finds allies. Through manipulation, intrigue and murder within his own family, he carves a bloody path to the throne. But at the height of tyranny, resistance grows and he falls from grace. The deceived and humiliated finally stand in his way, and in his dreams the ghosts of his victims haunt him. In a final battle, his fate is sealed. Must Richard pay for his deeds?

Shakespeare created in "Richard III" a dark drama about moral boundlessness, tyranny and the revenge of justice that continues to fascinate to this day.
