The trio of Petra Lewi, Titus Waldenfels and Michael Reiserer embarks on a glittering journey through Munich's Schwabing bohemia. Alongside the expressionist worlds of Frank Wedekind, early traces of Bertolt Brecht echo here too - shaped by the spirit of Munich's cabaret tradition, the wit and surreal world of Karl Valentin. A sonic cosmos emerges between upheaval and irony, leading to the legend-wrapped "Schwabinger Gisela", a symbol of bohemia, the yearning for freedom and urban lightness.

Spoken and sung words interweave with chanson, jazz, street ballads and the sounds of early sound films into a richly coloured tapestry of Munich's sense of life.

At the Munich Folk Festival, it was once important to shine with radio and film stars. That's why in 1973, the "Schwabinger Gisela" received her own pavilion, as she served stars like Kirk Douglas and Orson Welles in her Munich café.
