Andreas Begert, a young and increasingly prominent composer from Dorfen, has been making waves for several years now. Following acclaimed premieres of his "Bavarian Oratorio" and "Bavarian Symphony", he presents his "Bavarian Peace Symphony" in 2026 alongside the euregio oratorienchor. With deep respect for Karl Jenkins' "The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace", he responds to it musically - translating its global message of peace into a Bavarian yet cosmopolitan sound world.

Also on stage: the training choir of the world-famous Tölzer Knabenchor! Jenkins' profoundly moving choral work draws on texts from diverse cultures, religions and eras. It follows the traditional form of the Catholic Mass while carrying a cross-denominational, universal message against war and violence, and a longing for peace and humanity. "The Armed Man" is more relevant than ever - in the first half of the concert it will be performed by the Bad Reichenhaller Philharmoniker, the euregio oratorienchor and soloist Marie-Sophie Pollak, conducted by André Gold. Gold, the artistically active cantor of the parish church of St. Nikolaus in Neuötting, conducts international orchestras and choirs and is a co-founder of the cross-border euregio oratorienchor.

In the second half, Begert's "Bavarian Peace Symphony" weaves sacred music together with a contemporary symphonic language in a refreshingly innovative way. Partly traditional Bavarian instrumentation, dialect and other distinctive elements give the work its unique character.
