Eva Barta was born to Hungarian parents in Transylvania (Romania) and moved to Germany at the age of three. From the age of eleven she studied with Konrad Meister at the Hochschule für Musik in Hanover, then became a pupil of Evgeni Koroliov at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg. During her studies with Ilmo Ranta at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, she discovered her passion for the Lied - that union of tone and word from which music opens up new dramatic dimensions.
