They say it takes a village to raise a child. To navigate your own life, you need accomplices. In her second stage show, Christl Sittenauer goes looking for the allies in her everyday life - the ones who have been there all along, the ones she still needs, and the ones she could happily do without.
The great bard J.F.M.J. Merz recently lamented with concern the "missing networks of solidarity, especially among women". But Christl Sittenauer can put his mind at ease - she searches and finds. Rita, the topless swimmer; retirees in camouflage beige; a colleague who would rather paint facades than keep up appearances; virtual treadmill trainer René; and Monica Lewinsky. They are all part of an unspoken secret society that one joins sometimes by choice, sometimes not.
A show about sisterhood, white lies, altruism, the necessity of disobedience, people-pleasing, and skinny jeans.
