Pater Brown live: gripping crime stories as a live audio drama
With Wanja Mues, Antoine Monot and beatboxer Marvelin on tour from autumn 2025

Two stars, millions of fans and a cult figure: Antoine Monot ("Behringer und die Toten", "Ein Fall für zwei") and Wanja Mues ("Ein Fall für zwei") bring the live audio drama "Pater Brown" to the stage from autumn 2025. They are joined by Marvelin, one of the most sought-after beatboxers in the German-speaking world, who creates the entire soundscape live in front of the audience.

Instead of dry literary readings, audiences can expect crime stories full of twists and an evening of active guessing - with a sound design unlike anything heard before. From church bells and forge fires to ominous gusts of wind and a babble of voices: Marvelin transforms the stage into an entire world using nothing but his voice.

Two compelling cases open the programme:
• "Das blaue Kreuz" - a clever cat-and-mouse game between Pater Brown, master thief Flambeau and a brilliant detective.
• "Die fallenden Brüder" - a dark family drama about guilt, pride and a deadly secret.

"We wanted Chesterton's cases to be experienced as what they are: gripping crime stories that invite the audience to puzzle along - accessible, contemporary and with a sound that gets under your skin", says Wanja Mues. The stage adaptations were written by Stefanie Sick (also production manager) and Antoine Monot; all three - Antoine Monot, Wanja Mues and Stefanie Sick - share artistic direction of the evening.

"This time the audience doesn't watch us on TV but up close: as Pater Brown and narrator live on stage. A special evening for anyone who wants to follow along and guess", adds Antoine Monot.
