Who doesn't know her: Pippilotta Delicatessa Windowshade Mackrelmint Ephraim's Daughter Longstocking, 9 years old, freckled, with red hair and sticking-out braids. Self-confident and strong, she lives in Villa Villekulla with her horse and her monkey. A cult figure for children and a nightmare for stuffy adults - because every attempt to limit Pippi's freedom is doomed to fail.

Together with Annika and Tommy, the well-behaved children next door, Pippi shows that even the most ordinary day hides an adventure. That a dash of rebelliousness is what makes life worth living. And that you don't have to do everything the way everyone else does. That is the adventure of freedom.
