Diknu Schneeberger & Bakanic Quartett

"Avanti, Avanti" was the debut album of Schneeberger & Bakanic Quartett from 2023. It laid a solid foundation for the new musical journey titled "Bella Via". The programme represents both a natural continuation of the first album and an evolution in ensemble and style.

The musical path leads across the Alps to Italy and beyond across the world. "Alpine Swing" is the ensemble's motto and remains so today. Gypsy-jazz meets tango, alongside influences from new folk music and world music. Virtuosic peaks alternate with catchy melodies, while contemplative moments give way to captivating Mediterranean vibes that invite dancing.

Compositions are created in close collaboration between Diknu Schneeberger and Christian Bakanic. After three years of shared musical work, the ensemble knows exactly how to function as a unified whole and develop ideas together. Interesting, creative stylistic blends emerge: they play tango on the Styrian accordion or an Alpine folk dance that transforms into an Afro-Latin number. They experiment with musical styles while never losing sight of their roots - gypsy-jazz.

For guitarist Diknu Schneeberger, the new programme also represents a refinement, because when virtuosity is exhausted, one must shift to emotional expression: "The quality of my music changes with the state of my heart." The ensemble knows how to take listeners on a musical journey, immersing them in worlds of guitar and accordion.
