"Ein Harbour-Front-Dialog" — Laeiszhalle, Hamburg

Ildikó von Kürthy and Daniel Schreiber are joining forces for an evening at the Harbour Front Literaturfestival - a conversation developed especially for Hamburg. The two are close friends who regularly walk around the Alster, and they last shared a stage at the book premiere of "Alt genug", which Daniel Schreiber hosted.

Ildikó von Kürthy (1968) has spent years writing about women's lives, midlife, relationships and family, the body, ageing, and self-doubt. In "Alt genug", that writing has become an autobiographical act of self-examination. Daniel Schreiber (1977) explores themes of addiction, belonging, loneliness, grief, and the political dimension of collective feeling in his books "Nüchtern", "Zuhause", "Allein", "Die Zeit der Verluste", and "Liebe!" - themes that closely echo von Kürthy's own. She has even attended one of his writing workshops.

The evening's structure will take shape on the night: both authors have been given a carte blanche, and the conversation is meant to unfold freely. Ildikó von Kürthy lives in Hamburg, Daniel Schreiber in Berlin.
