Villa Musica at Villa Wieser

Jan Vogler, the world-renowned cellist from Dresden, plays Haydn and Brahms. Brahms's magnificent Second String Quintet opens with a sweeping cello theme - tailor-made for this globally celebrated musician. Together with young string virtuosos from Villa Musica, he paints a portrait of the late Brahms: Viennese waltz alongside csárdás, ecstatic Allegro alongside melancholic Adagio. Tradition and the present also meet in the cheerful Haydn Quartet Op. 33 No. 4 and in the "Minimal Music" of Phil Glass.
