About

Carl Carlton (born Karl Walter Ahlerich Buskohl, 20 April 1955 in Ihrhove, East Frisia) is a German rock guitarist, songwriter and producer who has been active since the late 1960s. He built his reputation as a sideman for Germany's biggest rock acts - Peter Maffay and Udo Lindenberg among them - before co-writing and producing the Grammy-nominated blues album Drive (2003) with Robert Palmer, which Billboard ranked among its Top Ten Blues albums that year. A second Grammy nomination followed with Eric Burdon's Soul of a Man (2006). Since 2001 he has led his own outfit, Carl Carlton and the Songdogs, releasing five studio albums rooted in blues, roots rock and Americana.
