Minions & Monster
Two animated hits in one programme - Minions and Monster. A great choice for families with children on a summer day at the cinema.
Jeff Bridges (born December 4, 1949, Los Angeles) is an Oscar-winning American actor and singer-songwriter who grew up in a Hollywood family - his father Lloyd and brother Beau were both actors. He won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role as the hard-luck country singer Bad Blake in Crazy Heart (2009), and that performance pushed him to record music for real: his self-titled album on Blue Note Records (2011), produced by T Bone Burnett, reached the top ten on country, folk and rock charts. He performs live with his backing band, the Abiders.
Bridges told People magazine he is 'feeling good' nearly five years after his lymphoma diagnosis, though he noted some lingering effects from COVID-19 contracted during chemotherapy.
Bridges released Slow Magic, 1977-1978 on April 12, 2025 via Light in the Attic - an archival album of previously unreleased recordings made with friends in a Venice, CA warehouse after filming King Kong (1976), salvaged from a single decaying cassette tape.
The Slow Magic, 1977-1978 LP was pressed on exclusive transparent blue vinyl, limited to 1,500 copies for Record Store Day 2025, and released digitally on the same date.
FX canceled The Old Man after two seasons; Bridges had starred as retired CIA operative Dan Chase and earned a Critics Choice Award nomination for Best Actor for the second season.
Bridges was honored at the 49th Chaplin Award Gala in New York (April 29, 2024) and confirmed his health had recovered well from lymphoma, saying 'My health is great.'
