John Akomfrah is a British artist, filmmaker and philosopher of Ghanaian origin. In 1982 he co-founded the Black Audio Film Collective, and has since created politically engaged video installations and films exploring memory, identity and postcolonialism. In 2022 he represented Great Britain at the Venice Biennale with the multi-channel installation Listening All Night To The Rain.
