SOYUZ is an East European jazz and MPB ensemble whose members relocated to Warsaw following the war in Ukraine and political repression in Belarus. Their album KROK (Belarusian for "step") marks a personal turning point, with bandleader Alex Chumak writing lyrics in his native language for the first time across nine compositions balancing melancholy and hope.
