Die schöne Müllerin (The Beautiful Miller's Daughter) is a song cycle by Franz Schubert composed in 1823 to poems by Wilhelm Müller. It consists of 20 songs for voice and piano, telling the story of a young miller's apprentice and his unrequited love. It is one of the cornerstones of the Romantic Lied repertoire.
