About the venue: Theater in der Josefstadt

Theater in der Josefstadt is one of Vienna's oldest and most prestigious theatres, founded in 1788 and rebuilt in its current form in 1822 by Josef Kornhäusel. It is closely associated with Max Reinhardt, who directed its celebrated reopening in 1924. The theatre stages a varied repertoire of classical and contemporary drama, comedies, and Austrian premieres.
