The Donauinsel (Danube Island) is a 21 km long artificial island in Vienna, created between 1972 and 1988 as a flood-protection measure. The area near Floridsdorfer Brücke is a popular recreational zone hosting open-air events, festivals, and concerts, including parts of the famous Donauinselfest, one of Europe's largest open-air music festivals.
