About the venue

The Donauinsel (Danube Island) is a 21-kilometre-long artificial island in Vienna, created between 1972 and 1988 as a flood-protection measure. It serves as a major recreational area and outdoor event venue, most famously hosting the annual Donauinselfest, one of the largest open-air music festivals in the world. Multiple stages along the island feature free concerts spanning rock, pop, folk, and electronic music.
