About the venue

The Donauinsel (Danube Island) is a 21.1 km long artificial island in Vienna, created between 1972 and 1988 as a flood-protection measure along the Danube. It serves as a major recreational area for the city and hosts large open-air events, most notably the annual Donauinselfest, one of the largest open-air music festivals in the world.
