About the venue
Gartenbaukino is one of Vienna's most celebrated single-screen cinemas, opened in 1960 and designed by architect Robert Kotas in a distinctive late-modernist style. Located on the Ringstraße boulevard, it seats around 730 guests in its grand auditorium. The cinema is a key venue for the Vienna International Film Festival (Viennale) and regularly screens arthouse and classic films.
