About the venue
Murinsel is a floating island-like structure in the middle of the Mur river in Graz, designed by American artist Vito Acconci and built for the European Capital of Culture 2003. The steel-and-glass shell connects both riverbanks via footbridges and houses a café, an open-air amphitheatre, and a children's playground. It has become one of the most iconic landmarks of modern Graz.
