About the venue

The Otto Wagner Areal is a monumental psychiatric hospital complex in Vienna's 14th district (Penzing), designed by the renowned Viennese architect Otto Wagner and built between 1904 and 1907. The Jugendstil ensemble comprises over 60 pavilions set in a large park and is considered one of the most significant examples of early 20th-century institutional architecture in Europe. Today the site hosts cultural events, exhibitions, and guided tours, while parts remain in medical use.
