About the venue
The Prater is a large public park in Vienna's 2nd district, stretching across some 6 km² between the Danube and the Danube Canal. Once an imperial hunting ground, it was opened to the public by Emperor Joseph II in 1766. Its most iconic landmark is the Riesenrad, a giant Ferris wheel from 1897, while the Wurstelprater amusement area hosts concerts, fairs and open-air events throughout the year.
