17 Hippies are a Berlin-based collective founded in 1995, whose music draws on Eastern European folk, French chanson, Cajun, jazz and rock - all played on acoustic instruments ranging from bouzouki and banjo to accordion and clarinet. The band grew from a small trio into an ensemble of up to thirteen regular members, and over three decades released 21 albums on their own Hipster Records label. They are probably best known outside Germany for the soundtrack to Andreas Dresen's 2002 film Halbe Treppe, which won a prize at the Berlinale, and are sometimes credited as founders of the so-called 'Berlin Style' of world-influenced acoustic pop.
17 Hippies released their 21st studio album 'Clowns & Angels' on February 7, 2025 via Hipster Records.
The band launched an encore tour from late 2025 into 2026 to present 'Clowns & Angels' and mark their 30th anniversary.

The band played their traditional Hippie Haus Tanz concerts at Kesselhaus Berlin on December 29-30, 2025, presenting 'Clowns & Angels'.
The single 'Fahnen und Parolen' was released on December 6, 2024 as the second single ahead of the 'Clowns & Angels' album.
