About

257ers are a German rap duo from the Kupferdreh district of Essen, formed in 2005 by Daniel "Shneezin" Schneider and Mike Rohleder - the name comes straight from their home postcode, 45257. Known for absurdist humour and a style that blends hip-hop with reggae and dancehall touches, they scored back-to-back number-one albums in Germany with Boomshakkalakka (2014) and Mikrokosmos (2016), the latter spawning the platinum hit "Holz". With twelve studio albums to their name and a loyal fanbase who call themselves "Mutanten", they remain one of the most consistent live acts in German-language rap.
