Afrob (Robert Zemichiel, born 1 August 1977 in Venice to Eritrean parents) grew up in Stuttgart and has been one of the defining voices of German hip-hop since the late 1990s. His 1999 debut single "Reimemonster" with Ferris MC is still regarded as a classic of the genre, and his debut album Rolle mit Hip Hop reached #13 on the German charts. Over more than two decades he has released ten studio albums - including two as ASD alongside Samy Deluxe - and appeared in films such as Leroy (2007).
