Airbag is a progressive rock band from Oslo, Norway, active since the mid-2000s under their current name. Founded by five school friends - including vocalist Asle Tostrup and guitarist Bjørn Riis - they signed to Karisma Records in 2008 and have since released six studio albums, drawing on the atmospheric legacy of Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree and Radiohead. Their debut single 'Colours' reached the top three on Polish national radio, and the band has built a loyal European following through years of touring alongside acts such as Yes, Marillion and Riverside.
Airbag began recording their seventh studio album in spring 2026, with a promotional tour planned for autumn.
Airbag released their first-ever double live album, 'Dysphoria - Live in the Netherlands', in November 2025.
Guitarist Bjørn Riis released his fifth solo album 'Fimbulvinter' in April 2025, alongside his ongoing work with Airbag.
Airbag released their sixth studio album 'The Century of the Self' in 2024, exploring themes of cancel culture and modern fear.
Airbag played three concerts in Poland in October 2024 - in Gdańsk, Warsaw and Kraków - promoting 'The Century of the Self'.
