AK Ausserkontrolle is the stage name of Davut Altundal, a Berlin-born rapper of Kurdish descent who grew up in the Wedding district. He first rose to prominence as the frontman of the hip-hop crew Ausserkontrolle before going solo in 2017 and founding his own label XY Records. His albums have repeatedly topped the German charts, and he is known for performing masked - a bandana covering his face that became his visual trademark.
