Legendary Italian artists Al Bano and Ricchi e Poveri perform together on stage in Poland for the first time, as part of the I Love Italia Festival.
Al Bano (born Albano Antonio Carrisi on 20 May 1943 in Cellino San Marco, Puglia) is an Italian singer and actor whose career spans seven decades. He sold over 25 million records worldwide, largely through his long partnership with Romina Power - the duo's hits like "Felicità" and "Ci sarà" became anthems across Europe and the Soviet Union. As a solo artist he has competed at the Sanremo Music Festival 15 times, winning in 1984, and was appointed FAO Goodwill Ambassador in 2001.
Al Bano announced a spring 2026 return to Russia with concerts in Moscow, Novosibirsk and Vladivostok.
Al Bano performed at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) on Palace Square on 20 June 2025, his first Russian stage appearance in six years.
In 2025 Al Bano made a pilgrimage to the Holy Land with a cultural association, performing Gounod's Ave Maria at the Basilica of the Annunciation in Nazareth.
Al Bano stated in an interview with ANSA that he had been invited to perform at a planned 'peace concert' on Red Square in Moscow.
Ukraine's Ministry of Culture added Al Bano to its national security blacklist in March 2019, citing his public statements on Crimea; his lawyer announced his removal from the list in September 2019.
