Alanis Morissette is a Canadian-American singer-songwriter born in Ottawa in 1974, who became a global phenomenon with her 1995 alternative rock album Jagged Little Pill - one of the best-selling albums in history, with over 33 million copies sold. Her raw, confessional songwriting and mezzo-soprano voice earned her seven Grammy Awards, fourteen Juno Awards and a Brit Award across a career spanning more than three decades. In June 2026 she was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
Alanis Morissette was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame at the 55th Annual Induction and Awards Gala in New York City, where Brandi Carlile performed 'Uninvited' in her honor.
Morissette performed at the FIFA World Cup opening ceremony in Toronto.
Morissette announced a Los Angeles residency titled 'Butterfly with a Machete' at YouTube Theater for November 2026, following her 2025 Las Vegas residency at Caesars Palace.
Morissette launched a summer 2026 UK and Europe tour, with dates in Cork, Exeter, Chelmsford, Woodstock, Glasgow, Lytham, London, Scarborough and The Hague.
Morissette's 2025 World Tour included a debut performance at Glastonbury and a sold-out show at London's O2 Arena.
