Alison Moyet is a British singer-songwriter from Billericay, Essex, who first broke through in 1982 as one half of the synth-pop duo Yazoo alongside former Depeche Mode member Vince Clarke. After Yazoo split, she built a long solo career spanning ten studio albums - from the UK chart-topping debut Alf (1984) to the 2024 retrospective Key - with her powerful bluesy contralto voice carrying her across pop, soul, and electronic music. By 2023 her worldwide album sales had reached a certified 23 million copies.
