Avulsed is a Spanish death metal band founded in Madrid in August 1991 by vocalist Dave Rotten (David Sánchez González), who also runs the Xtreem Music label. Pioneers of extreme metal in Spain, they built their reputation through relentless touring and a string of albums - from the 1996 debut Eminence in Putrescence through Stabwound Orgasm (1999) and Ritual Zombi (2013) - that earned them a loyal following across Europe and the Americas. In 2025 the band returned with their eighth full-length, Phoenix Cryptobiosis, recorded with a largely new lineup after a major personnel change in 2023.
Avulsed released their eighth full-length album Phoenix Cryptobiosis on March 4, 2025 via Xtreem Music, their first new studio album since Ritual Zombi in 2013.

Longtime instrumentalists Juancar, Cabra, and Tana - each with around 20 years in the band - departed, leaving Dave Rotten as the sole remaining original member.
Avulsed released the Extraterrestrial Carnage EP in 2023, setting the stage for the subsequent full-length album.
