About

Barry White (1944-2003) was an American R&B, soul and disco singer, songwriter and record producer, born in Galveston, Texas and raised in Los Angeles. His deep bass-baritone voice and lush orchestral arrangements - anchored by his 40-piece Love Unlimited Orchestra - made him the defining voice of romantic soul in the 1970s. He sold over 100 million records worldwide, won two Grammy Awards, and in 2023 Rolling Stone ranked him #57 on its list of the 200 Greatest Singers of All Time.
