Blood Red Shoes
Blood Red Shoes - the guitar-and-drums duo of Laura-Mary Carter and Steven Ansell - returns with new music after four years and hits the road across Europe.
Blood Red Shoes are a Brighton-based alternative rock duo formed in 2004, consisting of Laura-Mary Carter (guitar, vocals) and Steven Ansell (drums, vocals). Over six studio albums - from the debut Box of Secrets (2008) through to Ghosts on Tape (2022) - they built a reputation for raw, two-person rock that sits somewhere between indie, garage and post-punk. In 2014 they founded their own imprint, Jazz Life, giving them full creative control over everything they release.
Blood Red Shoes released new single "Screams" on March 30, 2026 - their first new music since 2023 - alongside an announcement of a European and UK tour for October 2026.
The band released the live album "20 Years of Blood Red Shoes: Live in Paris", documenting their 20th anniversary concert series held in 2024.
Laura-Mary Carter focused on solo work in 2024, including a new studio album and a support slot on tour with Queens of the Stone Age.
Blood Red Shoes marked their 20th anniversary with a series of special concerts in 2024.
The band released The Stone Tapes in 2023, a remix album of Ghosts on Tape, and continued developing their own label platform Jazz Life.
