Hype DISCO 80 Festival: Sandra, Londonbeat, Boney M
The biggest disco-pop celebration of the 80s in the Tri-City: Sandra, Boney M and Londonbeat on one stage for over 3 hours of concert excitement.
Boney M. is a West German-Caribbean disco and reggae-pop group assembled in 1974-75 by producer Frank Farian, whose original lineup brought together Liz Mitchell and Marcia Barrett from Jamaica, Maizie Williams from Montserrat, and Bobby Farrell from Aruba. Their late-1970s run produced some of the era's biggest-selling singles - "Rivers of Babylon" and "Mary's Boy Child / Oh My Lord" remain the only two tracks by a single act to both sit in the UK's all-time top-10 best sellers. The group has sold over 150 million records worldwide and continues to perform in various lineups, with both Liz Mitchell and Maizie Williams fronting separate touring incarnations.
Boney M. featuring Maizie Williams announced "The Final Curtain Tour" in Australia for April 2026, billed as the group's last Australian shows.
Boney M. has upcoming 2026 concerts confirmed in Austria (Leoben) and Germany (Bremen), alongside UK dates.
The group is currently active across two separate touring lineups - one fronted by Liz Mitchell and one by Maizie Williams - both performing the classic catalogue.
