About

Broken Social Scene is a Canadian indie rock collective founded in Toronto in 1999 by Kevin Drew and Brendan Canning, known for a fluid lineup that can stretch to nearly twenty musicians on stage. Their 2002 album You Forgot It in People - produced by David Newfeld and featuring voices like Feist and Emily Haines - won the Juno Award for Alternative Album of the Year and established them as one of the defining acts of early-2000s indie rock. The collective has released six studio albums in total, most recently Remember the Humans (2026), and in 2021 Pitchfork named them among the most important artists of the past 25 years.
