Bruce Springsteen, nicknamed 'The Boss', is an American rock singer-songwriter and guitarist from New Jersey whose career spans more than five decades. His albums - from Born to Run (1975) and Born in the U.S.A. (1984) to The Rising (2002) - made him one of the best-selling artists in history, with over 140 million records sold worldwide. He holds 20 Grammy Awards, an Oscar, a Tony, and a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. His concerts with the E Street Band, regularly running three hours, are widely regarded as a benchmark for live rock performance.
